Default Forum Posting Guidelines

Forum Posting Guidelines

Topic Title Guidelines
  • Please refrain from using CAPITAL LETTERS in the topic title unless it is a very important topic.
  • Please use PROPER ENGLISH in the topic titles
  • Please choose a topic title that is DESCRIPTIVE and relates to the content properly. Do NOT open topics with title like "Please help" or, "Come in", "Check this out", "I need help" etc that don't carry any specific meaning.
As DailyLifestyles.com Forum grows, it is increasingly important to properly title the subject of new topics. People find the topics that they are interested in mostly by scanning the titles, even when searching with our site search engine. Titles/Subjects that are misleading are not allowed. DailyLifestyles.com Moderators may change the title of any thread to assist in describing the content of the topics without notifying the member who started the topic. In some cases, a moderator may also contact the member if it is evident the member is having a problem with titling to give tips.

Topic Posting Guidelines
  • Please do NOT start topics with contents solely meant to offend another member of the forum
  • Please do NOT start topics that is not related to the forum it is posted in
  • Please do NOT cross post the same topic over in several forums. Contact the DailyLifestyles.com Team if you need to make a forum wide announcement.
  • Please use decent English in your posts. Perfect grammar and vocabulary is not needed, but make sure your post is at least understandable.
  • Please do NOT post advertisements. Contact the DailyLifestyles.com Team if you wish to do so.
  • Try to search the forum before making a post to avoid posting a duplicate topic to an older topic.
  • Try to stay on topic.
  • Please make your posts CONSTRUCTIVE instead of making yourself annoying by constant spamming/flamming/trolling. Try to stay on topic and be polite when replying. Sarcasms and flame baits are strongly discouraged and offenders would be severely penalized.
  • Please do not double post. A double post is defined by two consequetive posts that are exactly the same. The admins & moderators will delete the excess posts without notice if found.
Posting in the Appropriate Forum & Off-Topic” Posts
Please post your topics in the most appropriate forum. If you post a topic that would be more appropriate in another forum, a moderator will move it for you.

However, please do not make the moderators do this for you. Use your judgment to determine which forum best suits your topic. If you are dealing with a topic that could appropriately fit in more than one forum, please pick the one you feel is closest to your topic.

We have many different forums. We hope that you can keep discussions related to the forum you're posting in. In addition to this, please keep personal conversations (between 2 people, and of no concern to anyone else) confined to the Private Messaging system.

Off-Topic posts are posts that do not relate to the original post/topic, or is placed in the wrong category. While we realize topics often expand into different topics, we encourage members to do their best to stick with the original topic, or start another topic. Off-Topic posts are subject to editing or removal or moving at administrative discretion, and without notification. Members that continuously post off topic may have their posting privileges
suspended.

Language & Profanity
We require that your posts be in English. Posts in any other language or code that cannot be understood by the majority are not encouraged. Posts that are entirely in another language other than English will be removed. The only exception to this rule will be forums or topics specifically marked as non-English.

Swearing, profanity and vulgar language are not tolerated. If you feel you must swear to get your point across, please censor your language appropriately so as to not be overly offensive. Abuse of this rule will lead to posts deletion, warnings and suspension. We believe all our members are civilised individuals and are here for a good time. Even if the use of vulgar language is in jest, other members might not be comfortable with it. As such, we ask that you be considerate of others in your choice of words.

Abusive / Flaming / Derogatory / Baiting Comments
Abusive Comments, Flaming, or derogatory insults or comments will not be welcome. You don't have to agree with another member's opinion, but you NEED to respect it, and realize that it IS just an opinion, which may differ greatly from your own. If you disagree with another member’s point of view, do so in a mature and civil manner. Treat others like you would want to be treated. If you find yourself being flamed or insulted by another member, please do not dignify that person with a response. Notify a moderator and let us handle it. If you feel you must respond to a flame or insult directly, please DO NOT do so on the forum. Use Private Messaging, but make sure you do NOT threaten any member. Again, we do not allow flaming, baiting, or insults of other members of our site, and we enforce this rule strictly. Members who are found guilty of flaming, baiting, or insulting other members will be suspended. repeat offenders will be permanently banned from the site.

Threats, Racism, Sexism, Violence, Intolerance, Hatred
Topics or replies promoting or expressing intolerant views towards “minorities” (race, religion, sexual preference, interracial couples, etc.) will not be tolerated. Topics inciting violence, hatred, armed conflict, war etc will not be tolerated.

Consider this the only warning. Violators will be banned permanently.

Nudity / Pornographic & Adult Material
Nude and pornographic material is not acceptable anywhere in the DailyLifestyles.com. Overly suggestive photographs/pictures will most likely be considered adult material and removed.

NO TROLLING
“Trolling” or making posts with the intention of creating problems on the forums is obviously against the forum guidelines. This includes registering an alternative ID for the sole purpose of creating problems on the forums. “Troll ID’s” will be locked immediately and permanently, and the primary account holder may be banned from DailyLifestyles.com. Members that visit DailyLifestyles.com Forum only to participate in “conflict” threads may be designated as Trolling and have their account temporarily or permanently suspended.

Trolling is further considered one of two things. Either continual running a topic into the ground incessantly, or dragging up old arguments against a specific user/group/ect. long after the appropriate discussion and targeting them specifically in arguments needlessly.

Members account will be locked or deleted if they practice Trolling.

Spamming and cross-Posting
Spamming and Cross Posting is defined as posting the same information or content (full or partial) in two or more posts. We understand that some topics might fit into more than one forum or category but we ask that you please pick the best one and stick with it. Members found to be spamming will be warned and additional posts will be removed. Repeat offenders will have their posting privileges suspended or revoked.

“Free” & “Junk” Posting
“Free” or “Junk” posts are (repeated) posts that do not add to the overall positive content in the topics, or are postings solely for the purpose of boosting your post count. A good example of this can be found in topics asking for information on a topic for which you have no answer and does not directly address you (by name) or requests for you to answer. If you were to reply to this thread by saying, “Nope, I have no information”(ETC), this is a junk post. There is no reason to comment because your silence is as good as saying you do not have any information to contribute. If they are asking you personally (by name) though, please do feel free to reply regardless of whether you have the answer or not.

Many people judge member’s credibility based on post count, so we ask that you obtain your post count legitimately. Furthermore, free/junk posts add up over time and waste server space and ISP bandwidth unnecessarily. Topics announcing your post count are considered free posting. Free/Junk post repeat abusers may have their post count severely reduced by DailyLifestyles.com administrators.

Smiley Only Posting
This is considered spam and is not encouraged. All such posts may be deleted without prior notice. Repeat offenders may face up to 5 days suspension; warning bar increased; or banned.

Posting Links / URL’s / Email Addresses
While we prefer that all content be posted in the forums themselves (unless it is a copyright violation to do so) so that our members will always be able to access it, we realize that some information must remain on remote sites as it may be too extensive to re-post.

Posting links/URL’s in the DailyLifestyles.com Forum is allowed as long as they substantiate a post, or are summarized. Please don’t post links with a comment such as, “Check out this link”. Let members know what the link is about, rather than surprising them with it. Posting of links of forums or websites in a way that promotes that other site is NOT allowed.

We also do not encourage the posting of personal email addresses in public forums due to privacy issues. If you want someone to contact you privately, please post a note at the end of your post to be contacted via PM as long as it is a personal issue. The posting of your personal email address in ANY public forum invites SPAM from people creating mass email listings. Believe it or not, there are people who get paid to spend all day searching newsgroups, message boards, discussion forums, and chats just to collect email addresses that are posted.

Posting Personal Contact Information (Address / Phone Number)
Members are advised not post personal contact information such as home address, work address, home telephone number, work telephone number, etc., in the public forums. ANYONE, including guests to DailyLifestyles.com, can read the public forums - this policy is in place for YOUR safety and protection.

Posting Harmful URL’s
Any Member of DailyLifestyles.com that posts malicious or harmful URL links that cause:
  • other Member’s PC’s to become locked or have to be rebooted in order for the PC to regain functionality; or
  • “screaming”, (cannot be viewed safely for content or sound at work)
  • commercial/advertising "popup" windows (sometimes found imbedded in some counters used in signatures) Will be suspended and have their warning bar increased. A repeat offender may be permanently banned from the community.
Inviting / Directing Contact Outside of the DailyLifestyles.com Community
“Inviting” is termed as a post where you invite other members to contact you to find out more information, rather than post it in the forum. One of the purposes of DailyLifestyles.com is to provide our members with information on a variety of topics. If you post to the forum, we expect the information to be shared and available to all. Otherwise, use the PM function. If the information is private and/or confidential, it does not belong in a forum. Posting something and asking members to contact you for more information privately is equivalent to advertising and is not allowed and will either be edited or deleted entirely. Repeated abuse of this may result in loss of posting privileges, or account suspension. Our bandwidth is not for you to PM others.

Image Posting and Quoting Guidelines
  • There shall be NO more than 4 images posted on each single post.
  • When quoting posts with images, kindly REMOVE the tag. This helps to reduce unnecessary loading time, conserve bandwidth for those who use image-sharing sites, and also makes it easier to read. Seeing the same image many times over a few pages isn't exactly appealing.
DO NOT FLAME THE MODERATORS/ADMINISTRATORS
They have the final say. This forum isn't a democracy. Your vote doesn't always count. They try to please everyone they can, but in the end, they're charged with making this community as enjoyable for as many people as they possibly can. They can not always be right, nor can they please everyone with the decisions made, but they're doing their "job" and hopefully we can all agree that they're doing their best to ensure a good community here.

If you feel that an oversight has been made, PM the administrator. Do not post complaints on the forum.

“Freedom of Speech”
While we believe very much in the freedom of speech & expression, you DO NOT have an absolute right to say whatever you want in this community. Anything that goes against our core beliefs and the purpose for which this community was designed may not be allowed. Posts and comments that are meant to incite conflicts between members or outside parties are strictly prohibited. DailyLifestyles.com has the absolute right to edit, modify, close or delete any content found in this community. While this rarely, if ever happens, we will not tolerate any individuals or groups creating problems with the overall membership.

Conflict Resolution
Please do not use these forums for personal disputes, heated debates, flame wars etc. You are expected to treat each other with respect in the forums and take any personal disputes to a private mode of discussion off the forums. If you should find that your discussion is becoming too heated or someone is becoming far too passionate about their argument, please take the discussion to private message or email.
  • Please resolve the conflict in a constructive manner, and refrain from personal remarks and attacks.
  • Please note that if a conflict goes out of hand and the moderating team is forced to step in to resolve it, BOTH parties would be given a warning, regardless of who is right and who is wrong.
  • The DailyLifestyles.com Forum is NOT your battleground. If you have a personal grudge with any other member in the forum, carry your war somewhere else. PM would be a good place to resolve your conflicts.
